German Junior Open 2007 to take place in Mülheim an der Ruhr |
The German Junior Open 2007, an event being part of the ESF Junior Circuit Super Series, will take place in Mülheim an der Ruhr from 4 to 6 May, 2007.
The decision to host the event in Mülheim an der Ruhr was now confirmed by the European Squash Federation (ESF). The Minister of the Interior and Sports of the region of North-Rhine-Westphalia Dr. Ingo Wolf accepted an invitation to act as patron of the tournament. This announcement was made by the Ministry in a letter to the President of the German squash federation (DSQV) Michael Elger recently. The German Junior Open more and more do grow to a tournament of superlatives. In the year 2006 a total number of 260 players from 8 age categories, 24 nations and five continents participated in the event - a new record. The venue Sport-Treff-Punkt in Mülheim an der Ruhr is well-known in the sports-scene as it hostet the Squash competitions of the 2005 IWGA World Games. |
